During the preoperative stage doctor examines surface contour of a patient’s cornea and then by following the topographic map of the cornea, doctor determines the amount of tissue to be removed. In most of the time, patients are advised to take antibiotics for the prevention of post-operative infection.
Just operating the eye is not enough. Patients should also remain careful during the pre-operative stage. They should follow all the advices of the doctors and should continue using the prescribed eye drops. They are also suggested to take antibiotics if required.
